While we all await eagerly for the announcement of Hearthstone's next expansion, the Ashes of Outland meta has settled down tremendously.
Although Priest is not in great shape overall, several players such as Avelline and Nohandsgamer have found some great success with the class. Galakrond Priest continues to be far and away the most popular archetype for the class, boasting strong matchups against meta decks like Egg Warrior and Bomb Warrior. The deck usually wins by out-valuing and outlasting the opponent, with Galakrond's, the Unspeakable's hero power (and Invoke mechanic) introducing a lot of variation to every match depending on which minions are generated.
So we asked ourselves, what are the best minions (on average) to get from Galakrond?
Unsurprisingly, all of these minions generate either tempo or value (or both!).
Practically all variants of Priest in Standard play utilize Galakrond, the Unspeakable. So Fate Weaver's ability to discount your hand along with planting a solid body on the board is a no-brainer. Natalie Seline fills in a potentially problematic gap for Priest decks as an extra single target removal that also generates a competitive threat. And with Amani Berseker and Bonechewer Brawler wreaking havoc in some games, Cabal Shadow Priest is a welcomed relief.
